to heed that call. The 2015
paper of the Year contest is
now underway and entries
are being accepted through

To Be Honored
Two different awards – the LMA
Lifetime Achievement Award
and the Local Media Innovator
of the Year Award –
are now open for nominations.
Deadline for nominations
is August 12.
LMA Lifetime Achievement Award
Have you got the type of leader who epitomizes all that is good
about operating a media company, inspiring employees, and
being a true citizen of the community? If you answered yes then
you should definitely nominate him or her for LMA’s prestigious
Lifetime Achievement Award.
Characteristics of the nominee might include:
n Exemplifies excellence in the field of local media throughout their career.
n Pioneers new initiatives in local media.
n Provides civic leadership within the community or communities in which his or her
n Enhances the local media industry through leadership in areas related to local/com-
munity media publishing and/or through services to Local Media Association.*
n Membership or involvement with Local Media Association is not part of the criteria to
win the LMA Lifetime Achievement Award. Dedicated service to Local Media Associa-
tion can be used in a letter of nomination and can be one of several factors that judges
may consider when recommending a final candidate.
Local Media Innovator of the Year
LMA will also recognize an individual for outstanding innovation in our industry.
Salute one of your team mates with a nomination if they:
n Exhibit bold leadership in our field by pioneering new concepts or creating new busi-
n Are considered by others to be 'game-changers' or 'thought-leaders' in our industry
n Have demonstrated a willingness to share their success stories and lessons learned
with others in the industry
n Lead their company in a transformative way
n Have created a culture of innovation at their company
The award is bestowed upon an individual who has been the catalyst for transforma-
tive change at their company. The award is open to all local media companies, regardless
of their membership status with LMA.
How To Nominate
Online nominations at LMA’s website under the Contests tab. www.localmedia.org.
The process includes a written letter of nomination on company letterhead in the field
provided. Supporting material and information is recommended.. Many qualified entries
are received each year, therefore it is very important that the nomination address the
above criteria and include concrete examples.
Deadline for nominations is August 12.
The winners will be announced in late August and recognized during a luncheon at
the Local Media Innovation Conference in Denver on October 1.
